Coronavirus (COVID-19)

We know that lots of parents/carers are worried about this virus and we thought it would be helpful to explain what we are doing as a school.

It is important for you to be assured that there is contingency planning going on behind the scenes as to how we will manage this situation over the coming weeks and months.  All our planning is based on the most up to date Public Health Advice for schools as well as our usual policies and procedures.

The Senior Leaders have developed appropriate plans should we have to close or partially close either due to Government instruction or staff absence.  In the event of any closure, we will send you a letter or text and put the relevant information on the school website.

Pupils should only stay at home if they are unwell with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature to avoid spreading infection to others. Otherwise they should attend school as normal.

At the moment, what is most important is that we remain open and continue to provide your child with a consistent and safe learning environment with minimum disruption to their education.

Hand santiser is available in the school reception and all visitors will only be allowed to enter the premises once they have used the gel provided.  Sanitiser is also provided in all classrooms, the dining hall, toilets and offices.

We have spoken to all pupils about hand washing and how to do this properly and posters are displayed in key areas to remind everyone about good hygiene.

Work will be prepared for your child should we have to close for any length of time and more information will be sent out should this be required.

We do hope that this letter gives you some comfort that we are making the best possible preparations and in the meantime we will continue with ‘business as usual’, welcoming your child to school each and every day.
