Read Write Inc.

We are a “Get Reading. Keep Reading. Change Everything.” School.

We have recently introduced the highly successful Read Write Inc. Phonics programme to teach our children to read, write and spell. Our children do well in the phonics screening check but this will mean we are able to ensure our children do even better and that by Year 2 the majority are fluent readers with the best chance of success in the KS1 tests.

Our staff have received Ruth Miskin Training and as a school we are working towards raising standards in reading and writing for our children.  Our Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children will have daily Read, Write, Inc. sessions and we will support our most vulnerable readers with extra one–to–one teaching every day.  Children with gaps in their phonic knowledge, reading, writing or fluency in Key Stage 2 will also be supported through high quality Read, Write, Inc. teaching and intervention.
