We are striving to build better links with the local community to ensure we are proactively providing our pupils with opportunities to become active and responsible members of the local community.
We want to do our best to raise awareness about the difficulties the local community faces with issues such as antisocial behavior and vandalism and to teach pupils about the importance of building a community which will inspire future generations.
Our school vision statement states;
“Athersley North Primary School will be at the heart of the community from which will emerge confident and skilled individuals of the future.”
On a regular basis, pupils visit places within the local community to volunteer their time, developing key life skills such as responsibility, resilience, risk taking, reasoning and forming relationships.
